I’m back!!!

Well it’s been a ong time, but yes I am back.

My new baby boy was born the beginning of August and when he was 2 weeks old was rushed into hospital and was in for a week. He had a condition called Pyloric Stenosis and had to have an operation. He has now fully recovered and we are all settled down into family life!

An Update…. I’m still here…. Sunshine at last!

Well, I know i’ve been a bit quiet on here this week, but i’m still here…… still waiting (useless full moon!).

Been very quiet as the weather has finally started to look up and so we have been making the most of it out in the garden! I am back inside searching the net for things to occupy a toddler with in the garden. Am thinking i definitely need to get him a sandpit or something!

Hopefully the weather will last and I have a few things to post and update you on as well, they should be appearing shortly!

Birth rates increase (but only slightly, by 1%) during the full moon….

Well…. That’s still a slight increase!!!

I’m due in 16 days and am fed up, was hoping today might be the day due to the myths about a full moon bringing on lots of babies! However after a bit of research it turns out there’s not that much truth in it really, not scientific anyway. Although there are various reports from doctors/nurses etc who say that there does ’seem’ to be an increase. Also an increase during storms as well… Hmmmm perhaps I should go and check the weather reports as well!

I love Buttons!!!!!

Oh my god I absolutely love buttons! I have no idea where this strange like has come from – although I do remember as a child always playing with tins of buttons than my nan had – looking through them and sorting them out into colours or shapes. Well, not surprisingly they are on my swapbot wishlist and today I received a great big packet full of them from Gayle. I love them. Thank you so much as you can see the first thing I did was sort them out into different colours! Eventually when I have enough I shall split them into little jars according to colour! See my Flickr Favourites post here. Although as I am always using them in various craft projects/sewing it may take a while!!

A very thoughtful package!

Today I received a lovely ‘wishlist’ package from Swapbot. A ‘birthing’ mix cd for when I have my baby in a few weeks time.

The Package is from Thratch (Rachel) and has some really good songs on, its all packed in my bag ready and I can’t wait to listen to it! Thank-you!

Ebay Addiction…

I’ve spent most of the weekend glued to ebay trying to get accessories sorted out for the Phil and Teds! Due to the previously mentioned used up baby budget I have been having a good clear out and put a load of stuff on ebay to sell so i’ve got funds to spend. So far I have got a Pack cell to go in the basket undernesth to hold clothes/nappies etc. Probably spent nearly as much as it would be new – but wanted to use my paypal funds! Still need to get a ‘Hangbag’, Footmuff and sunshade. Although I have found a great site that sells new stuff cheap – just wish they took paypal!

Cushions!

Well, I’ve still not made a lot of progress on the chair cover for the kids room. Any ideas on the best was to make a cover for that shape chair (see post further down page) would be gratefully received!!

I have however made these two patchwork cushions which I am very pleased with as they match the room really well and were just made with scraps of fabric I had! The back is just plain dark blue.

I love Glass Beads!

I love glass beads! I was looking for some quite large blue glass beads to make some tie backs for the curtains in my bathroom. Today my mum visited all the way from Cornawall and bought me a blue bead necklace with the idea of me taking it apart to make the tie backs with! However I haven’t got a blue bead necklace so perhaps i’ll just wear it for a day or two first – just until inspiration strikes for the tie back design – need to find some hooks first anyway!
